It felt a bit weird to write a travel gift guide this year as we might not be traveling much. Even so, I think us travel lovers want to be ready to go again the second it’s safe to do so. There’s really no better time to dream and prepare for the future of travel! These unique travel gifts under $50 will get your loved one excited for when travel starts up again and reminiscing on their past ones too.
UNIQUE TRAVEL GIFTS UNDER $50
Travel Pillow – $17
Let’s be honest, those awful neck pillows you can get at the airport really don’t do much (what’s worse than bobbing your head over and over?) I got mine from Macy’s a few years back and even though it looks like I’m wearing a neck brace, it has been a life savor on many long flights. Here is a similar one from Amazon!
Passport Holder – $12+
Passport holders and luggage tags can be a great stocking stuffer for the travel lover in your life. These ones from Etsy can be personalized which adds such a cute touch!
USA Photo Map- $48.99
I love this USA photo map because it’s a great way to check off states as you go and makes it more personal than a pin map.
Photo Prints of a Favorite Place – Starting at $5
Since you might not be able to buy them a ticket to their favorite place, opt for a print of it instead! Etsy has tons and tons of gorgeous prints of different places all over the world like this New York City print or this Amsterdam drawing
Shutterfly Photo Book – Starting at $13.98
I got Robert a photo book for our two year anniversary and it was so special to give to him and fun to make! They have beautiful templates for your book so you don’t have to be an amazing designer to make it look professional. Or if you want, you can input your photos and they will make the entire book for you! Shutterfly is a great place to get a ton of customized items like calendars, wall art and more!
Joby Tripod – $49.84
Every traveller needs a great, compact tripod to document their adventures. This Joby tripod can wrap around many different objects making it great for solo travelers to get the perfect shot!
Camera Stabilizer – $19.91
Camera Stabilizers are absolutely necessary for any video taking while on the road. If your loved one is just starting out and needs a stabilizer for their phone, this one from Amazon will do great. If they need a more advanced stabilizer, Apple has a really nice one for $120.
Unique travel books
There are a ton of great books out there for those who want to remember their travels. I don’t know about you, but lately all I’ve been doing is dreaming about my old travels and wishing I could go on more!
The Bucket List: This book is great to fill your sense of wanderlust. It can help you plan for future travels and get excited!
Our Adventures – This book is great for traveling couples because they can fill it out and remember the amazing places they have been together! I got it for Robert for Valentine’s day last year and it has been a ton of fun to go through and knock some awesome things off of our bucket list.
I love this book because I am a huge list person! It has general lists like “European countries you have been to/ hope to visit” or more specific ones like “travel mistakes.”
Scratch Map – $13
Another fun way to easily see all the places you’ve been and where you still need to go!
Jewelry Case – $20.95
I’ll admit it, I used to put my jewelry in a plastic bag and spend forever untangling it when I got to my destination. Thankfully, I take much better care of my jewelry now and use a jewelry case to keep everything organized!
UNIQUE TRAVEL GIFTS NOT UNDER $50
Polaroid Camera – Starting at $60
I am absolutely obsessed with my Polaroid One Step because it is so easy to use! This polaroid has a bunch of great features, the best being that I can connect it to my phone and remotely shoot. I find polaroids so special because they catch a moment and then you have them printed right then and there! They start at about $130 and then film can get pricey at about $2 per shot.
You could also look into the fujifilm Polaroid camera which starts at $60 and comes in a ton of fun colors!
I understand being nervous to use a polaroid because the shots don’t always turn out, if you’re unsure you might want to try the Polaroid lab. All you have to do is put your mobile phone up to the lab and it will take the photo from your phone and print it as a polaroid!
