We all know NYC is insanely instagrammable and when visiting, it can impossible to decide which spots are worth it for the feed. For me, I like to go to places that are both great for photos and offer something fun to do. In this guide to instagrammable NYC I’ll show you my favorite spots for photos and some of the fun things to do around each spot!
230 Fifth Rooftop Bar – 230 Fifth Ave, Manhattan, NY, 10001
This spot is amazing because of its view of the Empire State Building. Sure, it’s great to go up the ESB, but having it in the photo is even more iconic. Head here for happy hour to avoid the cover fee and get discounted drinks! In the summer they have amazing frosé and in the winter they have delicious boozy hot chocolate!
Radio City Music Hall – 1260 6th Ave, New York, NY 10020
There are a ton of fun angles you can get of Radio City and totally different vibes whether you go during the day or at night! We tried this shot on the left with the wide angle on the new iPhone and I love how it turned out! If you go around Christmas Time you have to see the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular! It’s magical and such a fun show!
Times Square – 40th to 53th Streets, between Sixth and Eighth Avenue.
What’s a trip to NYC without a stop to Times Square? If it’s your first time to NYC then it’s a must, if you’ve been before then you may not feel the need to go again. Either way, it’s a fun place for photos and of course to see a show! If you are looking for discounted tickets to a Broadway show head to the TKTS booth (right under the red steps). I don’t recommend eating or shopping in this area because prices are much higher!

Central Park gets its own category because there are so many places you can take photos around the park! My suggestion is to take a day to explore the whole park and snap some photos along the way. You’re sure to find some beautiful spots. Below I’ve laid out some of my favorites if you need somewhere to start!
Cherry Hill Fountain
The Main Walk
Summerhouse at the Dene
Check the official Central Park site for directions and even more spots to check out!
instagrammable spots in Greenwich VILLAGE
Greenwich Village is full of instagrammable spots! From the famous friends building, Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment and more! Here are a few places to definitely check out
Gay St– Greenwich Village, 10014.
There are great bars and restaurants right around this street, but I mostly just love how cute the brownstones are!
Washington Square Park
You can spend the day listening to live music, people watching and taking photos with the famous arch! I personally love to grab a coffee at a nearby cafe, like the Greydog and then hang out in the park!
The Friends Building – 90 Bedford St. New York, NY 10014
I love the entire area around the Friends Building because of its gorgeous brownstones and cute restaurants. Take your photo and then be sure to explore the area!
Carrie Bradshaws Apartment – 66 Perry St. New York, NY 10014.
I haven’t gotten my pic at her apartment yet, but it’s a classic spot!

Instagrammable spots in Downtown NYC
My favorite area of NYC is downtown and it is so instagrammable! It’s the most historic area in the city and makes for some really amazing photos. A few places to check out are:
Stone Street – This street is aptly named as it is lined with stones! Hanging above is a canopy of lights lined with bars and restaurants on each side! After snapping some photos head to The Cauldron, a magic themed bar where you can mix your own cocktails!
Liberty Island – We took the ferry boat tour over to Liberty Island and Ellis Island and I loved every second! You can get amazing shots while on the ferry with the city behind you and then get great photos up close with The Statue of Liberty!
China Town – Check out Mott street for the ultimate photo op. While in Chinatown here are a few places to check out: Taiyaki for ice cream and Japanese pancakes. Nom Wah Tea Parlor for amazing dim sum at one of the oldest restaurants in Chinatown. Mei Lai Wah for some delicious steamed buns!
Brooklyn Bridge – The best time to take photos on the Brooklyn Bridge is at sunrise because there will hardly be anyone there and the lighting is perfect! Or if you aren’t a sunrise person, walk from Brooklyn back to Manhattan at sunset for an amazing view of the sun dipping behind the city!
The Oculus – The Oculus is both a mall and a terminal connecting the PATH train and the regular MTA subway system. Plus, its a great spot for photos because of the amazing architecture! You can spot the World Trade Center through the ceiling too!
World Trade Center – 285 Fulton St, New York, NY 10007.
This is such an iconic NYC building, you’ve got to add it to your Instagram! Bring a wide angle lens to get both the Oculus and World Trade Center in the shot!
The Roxy Hotel Tribeca – 2 6th Ave. New York, NY 10013.
The shape of the Roxy Hotel makes for some fun photos! Check out both the front and the back for different perspectives! They also have a really nice bar you should check out!
Squibb Park – 68 Columbia Has. Brooklyn, NY 11201.
I just recently discovered this little park and it makes for a nice walk with amazing views of the city! It’s usually busy and you have to wait for people to pass to get a good shot, so I suggest going early in the morning!
Brooklyn Bridge Park – 334 Furman St. Brooklyn NY. 11201
Another amazing spot with great views of Manhattan! Thankfully it’s a big area so it shouldn’t be hard to get a shot without anyone else in it! We like to grab a beer to go from Shake Shack and enjoy it by the water!
Manhattan Bridge – The intersection of Washington St and Water St in Brooklyn, NY.
This is probably the most famous instagram spot in all of NYC! I believe everyone needs their photo here, no matter how basic it might be! Again, go early to avoid crowds. It will be very hard to get a shot without a ton of people in it unless you go bright and early!
There are a million more places to take photos in NYC, but these are just a few of my favorite instagrammable NYC spots! Where are your favorite spots to take photos in NYC? Drop them below!
