The best Restaurants in Denver, Colorado
I personally believe that Denver has some of the best bars and restaurants, but I might be biased! From yummy brunch with mimosa towers to Mac and cheese pizza to delicious steak, there are just so many amazing spots to try!
I’ve broken this guide down into three of my favorite Denver areas, LoDo, RiNo and The Highlands. You’ll find restaurant and bar recommendations plus my favorite thing to get at each!
LoDo is a bustling area full of trendy shops and restaurants. You’ll find popular attractions like Union Station and Coors field and can easily spend a whole day in the area. If you come during baseball season I suggest going to a game and then bar-hopping around the area! Here are some of my favorites spots in LoDo.
The Refinery – This bar is known for its flower shot. First, you eat the flower and it numbs your mouth and then you take the shot! It’s just a fun thing to do on a night out and don’t worry the flower doesn’t taste as gross as you may think!
The Retro Room – The Retro Room has such a great vibe to it which is why I like it. They have an assortment of pickle shots which is really what they are known for. So, if you love pickle shots this is the place for you!
Ophelia’s – This bar is a little classier than the others mostly because they have craft cocktails. “A bird in the hand” is one of my faves. And check the calendar for upcoming events like live bands and DJs.
The Ginn Mill – Honestly this bar is nothing too special, but one that I enjoy going to on a night out. Vodka soda is probably what I’d get!
Ian’s Pizza – Guys, this is my FAVORITE pizza in Denver. Get the mac and cheese slice. Thank me later.
The Lobby – Did someone say bottomless mimosas?? If you have a group of six you can get the mimosa tower, but beware they will continue to fill it up and you won’t realize how much you’ve had till you stand up. For food, I love the mac and cheese and the breakfast burrito (not necessarily in the same sitting lol.)
Tupelo Honey – Another great brunch spot with southern comfort food. I loveeee the fried chicken and biscuits!
Denver Milk Market – Markets are honestly just so fun! I love having so many options all in one place and I think Denver Milk Market does a really great job. If you want a craft cocktail head over to the Moo Bar and if you’re obsessed with Bao like me then check out Boa Chica Boa. (Also the cutest name ever)
The Cherry Cricket – If you’re in the mood for a burger then check out The Cherry Cricket! It’s a build your own burger type situation and they have over 21 toppings to choose from!
Visiting NYC? Check out some of my favorite happy hours in the city!
If you love beer and art then RiNo is the place for you. There’s art and brews at just about every corner. While I don’t personally love beer, I do love seeing all of the murals around this part of the city! Here are a few of my favorite spots in RiNo.
Denver Central Market – Another great market that has tons of food, drink and a pretty laid back environment. You can stop in for a meal or pick up fresh fish, fruit and more!
Stem Ciders – One of my favorite spots to go to in the summer for a refreshing cider. They also have an awesome patio and games to keep you entertained. I almost always opt for a flight at this cidery so I can try new flavors, so far my favorite has been the Pear.
Finn’s Manor – I love this spot for its craft cocktails, but what I love more is the food trucks! Bars with good food really just make the experience, don’t they?
First Draft – Figured I should add in a brewery since I just said there are a ton in the area! This spot is self serve and has over 40 taps to choose from. They have beer, wine, kombucha, cider, and coffee! Pour as much or as little as you’d like! I like to sample a few before making a choice.

I’m not sure what it is about the Highlands, but I think it might be my favorite area of Denver. It’s got a bit of everything and I feel like the bars and restaurants here are all good, you really can’t go wrong!
Little Man Ice Cream – This little milk jug shaped ice cream shop is so cute! Worth it for a scoop of ice cream rain or shine!
Recess Beer Garden – This spot is great in the summer because of the outdoor beer garden! They have games and an overall chill atmosphere. Their lemon drop shots are pretty bomb too.
Uncle – If you like Ramen (and who doesn’t?) then try Uncle. The spicy chicken is my favorite.
LoHi Steak Bar – A little higher end, but seriously one of the best steaks I’ve ever had in my life! The filet with garlic herb butter is to die for.
Williams and Graham – This cute speakeasy is disguised as a library! It made Thrillist’s list of the top 23 Speakeasies in the world! So definitely worth a try. The wait is usually pretty long, but totally worth it!
Avanti Food And Beverage – The rooftop here has great views of the mountains and all of Denver! I normally get a mixed drink, but their sangria is great too!
Green Russell – This spot is a bit hidden as it is a speakeasy! I just love the vibe of speakeasies and find that they make some of the cocktails. At Green Russell you’ll find classic cocktails as well as their own cocktail creations plus small bites.
Corridor 44 – I love this spot because it’s a bit different. They specialize in champagne cocktails! Their menu is extensive and there is definitely something for everyone! You also get a free drink on your birthday!
Crú Wine Bar – I love a good wine bar and Crú is super vibey. Their pizzas are a big part of their claim to fame and the pear and gorgonzola is to die for! Try to go during happy hour Monday to Friday, 3-6:30 or Thursdays for half off champagne!
Side Note! My favorite way to get around Denver is by scooter. All of these areas are close enough together that you can scoot on over with the Uber or Lyft app! It’s fun and less expensive than taking a car, just be sure you aren’t intoxicated when riding! They go fast!!
There you have it, the best (in my opinion) bars and restaurants in downtown Denver! Colorado has a very special place in my heart and I hope you get a chance to visit if you’ve never been!
